Red face Advice on how to create this realistic fluid level animation with air bubbles ?

Hi I have to create a short animation from the side of realistic water with these air bubbles to look like my attached image. I'm no dynamics expert, Ive used nparticles a couple times and realflow once a long time ago and wondered any advice on how you would go about this and your preferred method

Could Maya do this, and is there a difference between maya fluids and Nparticles?
is Realflow a better option?

I think my main concern is how to do these air bubbles that sit on the surface
Any advice is greatly appreciated, many thanks

Hi Thanks for that, I came across that yesterday but thought it wasn't what I needed as this is boiling water and I need slightly rocking water with air bubbles trapped on the surface... but looking again I might be able to implement some of these methods

Still not sure how to get some air bubbles to move and stick to the surface of the water for a while before disappearing though, cheers

You could try Blobby Particles with a decent shader. With enough tweaking, they may give you what you are looking for.
