hi banman7

Thanks for taking the time to watch/respond to my stuff; appreciated.

I agree with the rendering comments. This demo footage is actually rendered in Carrara Pro 8.1. I don't use the Poser software, more a mix of DazStudio and Carrara.

Sometimes when you do all the work yourself you get what you pay for. This "movie" is more of a "proof of concept" type thing and is actually only a way to get you interested in the dating website so you can find your One True Love.

I am hoping to achieve the smoothing effect you had described using a software called SpeedGrade. I have not tested it fully but I'm hoping it's the solution. (Does anybody AGREE with this???) I would like to try out Vue but it's a whole other ecosystem and I've had my hands full with Adobe creative suite this month, but you never know

I am hoping more that you engage with a character or storyline. Hoping that when you watch the clip when it ends you want to know what happens next. I think it's my music background... I'm always like: "don't bore us; get to the chorus".

Have a good one...

Well maybe it's just me but I already have expressed my opinion regarding such a simple approach to the Incubator. There are no benefits into posting everything into one master thread. At best, the information gets buried under the posts.

But great work Robert and the effort is appreciated from me non the less.

please forgive my ignorance or shortsight, but where is the difference between an incubator thread and an "normal announcment"? (except that more rules apply, and you are at risk of being overlooked, because of several similar named incubator threads)

so when i already have a blog (with weekly updates) where would be the benefit of maintaining two? (socialnetworks, game forums need updates aswell... and thats a additional timekiller for someone who is working on the IP on the side (like most, i'd guess))

?

I have found out that when I go to the gym with someone with me, I tend to do better.

Well think of it this way, it makes the creative process less lonely.
Having a weekly thread forces you to do updates.
Since as developer you have posted very public place among your peers your intention to finish the project.

And it has the added bonus that people can comment about your progress.

The weekly threads allow you, asa creator, to gain momentum and not sleep on your laurels.

What about those of us who already had a thread in the WIP forums? Should we have to start one from scratch with the IP Incubator prefix or can we just have the title changed?

If you have thread already in one of the CGSociety forums, just leave it alone.
Just post the link.

Apologies for the thread-necro, but does anyone recall the youtube channel creator who uploads Pixar 'Cars' parodies that are intentionally half-jobs?

I remember someone posted a link months ago, but can't seem to remember which thread. I thought it might have been this one, but search is giving me nothing.

hi, folks, I have been searching like crazy to find an answer-- I am 99% sure I saw the link posted by someone on the CGTalk GD board.

Does anyone have an idea about what channel/creator I am talking about who produces the deliberately half-job 'Pixar' cg animations (featuring mainly 'Cars' IP)

I'm pretty sure I posted the link earlier in this thread, so simply searching through might have been a good idea

A Cars Life - Sparky's Big Adventure

Is one of them.

Thanks Dave, I was under the impression the YouTube channel owner was also the creator of the series.

Nope. This is the guy; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Schelp

The third release seems a little more polished than the other two. I guess persistence has its merit
