Limiting color ranges

I was searching how to get it but not lucky. Can you help me to limit color ranges? When using the color inspector I get too high color valors. Can I use a filter/s to reduce/clamp them?

there are several ways to do this:

you could use a color curve and bend the curve above a threshold value to bring the very high values down

you can hard clip them via the "clamp white" function in the "Brightness/Contrast" node

you can use an expression in a "custom tool" to hard or soft clamp then above a certain value

you can download a softclip macro from vfxpedia
