Hellboy-X, Lior Arditi (2D)

Title: Hellboy-X
Name: Lior Arditi
Country: Israel
Software: Photoshop

This fun piece was made in the spirit of the "Purim" holiday, which is Jewish equivalent for Halloween. the brief for this challenge, was to put on a famous movie star, the costume of another. well I choose a big favorite of mine- Mike Wazowski... from hell!

How cute. I like the tribute to Hellboy and Monsters Inc. I really like how you did the Mike/Hellboy character. Maybe you could've made the stone arm a bit bigger to further contrast the size difference, but that's just me. I like the head of your villian monster, Randel, but I don't like his body as much (too noodle-like or tube-like in body form). Good expression on Mike/Hellboy and the multi-eye monster in the foreground. Kind of wish you'd find a way to include Sully in there, but I guess he'd be too big for this composition (maybe a separate image with him; as maybe Abe Sabien; just a thought). Overall, this was a very enjoyable piece. Keep it up. Nice work.

Thanks for the feed backs guys!
I'm happy to say this piece has won the first place in the challenge...

Lina- I appreciate your detailed response. most of the hing you mentioned were on my mind:
The size of mike's stone arm was kept in this size because I didn't want it to compete with the big pistol. about Rendel's body- I wanted to keep it's original design, but along the way I've found out that keeping his lower arms might be two much information. therefor I made his body a little different from the original, keeping the focus on mike.
Regarding sully- well' you've said it yourself...

thanks again everybody (:
