Select and pass particles to other events

I selected various particles from my birth pflow event & passed them onto an individual event, while the unselected particles went on to their own event. Now I once more want to select particles from the unselected particle event, but how do i select more particles from an event which isn't a birth event? I hope that's clear enough to understand my problem ,,thanks.

Not really sure you can using the command panel interface and drawing selections.

You could however assign selection via script or box#3. So you might be able to get at least one drawn selection from the first or birth event (I have a feeling it would just mess things up later), then in the subsequent event cancel all selections then assign new selection either true or false. If you have a small/moderate particle count you can also store the particle id and select/re-select an array of particle IDs. ie arrayOfIds = true else the rest are false.

Also don't forget the Group Selection / Split Group operators which were part of Box #1 and were rolled into Max a few releases ago. They let you select particles by various methods / properties and send them out based on the grouping...
