Humanoid Frog_going into extreme crouch

I'm working on a humanoid cartoon frog for high detail animations. The frog is usually standing and walking upright, but will need the ability to crouch like real frogs do in order to leap.

The issue I'm currently trying to figure out is how to model the topology of the frog's hips so that they can later be rigged without collapsing in on themselves when the frog goes into an extreme crouch.

Should I be solving this by a specific way of topologizing? should I move the base pose of the mesh half way in between standing and the extreme crouch? Is a heavy usage of skin morphs inevitable?

Does anybody have any topology references of models that have successfully achieved what I'm looking to do?

A picture of your humanoid frogs wires would help.

Here's an image of what I've got so far. I've already deleted some of the polys in the rear of the mesh, the 'tail' was looking a bit weird.

Maybe I'm visualizing this wrong, but it seems that the hips wouldn't get any more stretched than they would on a human in fetal position. The difference would be mostly in leg length.

Frog legs can go further than humans in a fetal position. Though I am making him humanoid, I'd like to retain that frog flexibility, so the legs will be bending slightly more than a human's.

I'm only at an intermediate level when it comes to rigging, so I wonder if I may have just put the hip joint too far back within the mesh, or that combined with the need for skin morphs.

Does the topology I attached look clean enough?
