Question Leather texture...

Hey guys, here is the problem...
I used an image to map the "cell size" parameter of the Maya's leather texture, that I use as bump map.
Now, it works when rendered with "maya software" but doesnt works with Mental Ray !
Another fun fact is that If I use a ramp instead of an image, it works with Mental Ray too !
Im using Maya 2013 SP2 on Win7... not sure what happend in other versions...
Can you help me ?

Interesting that that doent work. but it didnt work for me either.

A work around is to create an inbetween node (for example a ramp as you said) and have your texture file as the only color input. then plug the ramp into your bump.

this worked for me. so yeah. I get exactly the same results

or just tick "alpha is luminance" on your texture file and it will work the way you originally had it

now I get it doh.
