Max 2013 UI issues

So finally decided to open 2013 to see if the new update fixed anything and now I can't get the UI to work properly.

It won't load a max 2012 UI, it just hangs there and the Graphite modeling tab insists on being vertical when it's floating.

Anyone having similar issues or will I need to re-install max again?

Unfortunately for some reason, somebody somewhere, decided that the Graphite toolbar would be restricted to the vertical when un-docked...............

I've no idea why, as it totally changes the layout of the UI and obviously the text is at a 90 degree angle to the viewer.

If I had the opportunity to design an ergonomic UI from scratch I think I too would start with text at a 90 degree angle to the viewer....

The way to handle the UI and keep it Horizontal is to rip off the individual tab menus and drag them to your second monitor if you have one.
