So I think I should join this. It will be a rush job and I am sure if I am able to finish it intime but here goes.

I once drew an image on my phone and I have always wanted to turn it into an animation, So I I have started with the basic concept in photoshop both images seen below

Original Sketch.

A render Test!

Animation Test is coming soon.

Some of the buildings.

And here is a render test I did a few days back.

I know I have not got much time left but comments are welcome.

nice.
i would add something to hide the strait edges between the buildings and the shell. displacement, or more subdivision locally if you don't have enough time to render the displacement.
there's also a big lighting difference compared with the background.
and the 3d is almost desaturated, but that may be an artistic choice.
keep it up, that can be awesome!

Thank you so much for the reply and the advice! I was thinking of adding some rocks and trees round the outside of the castle between the shell and the buildings. What do you think? I have just uploaded a render test and I still need to work on the lighting, and the animation is a tad bit slow, even for a turtle

My final entry

This is my entry to the fxwars seven towers challenge.
There was so much that I wanted to do with this idea. Originally the concept was about a turtle egg that fell into a birds nest, the turtle was raised with a bird as its brother, they both got separated , grew to an extraordinary size, and fell asleep for a few thousand years. When they woke up they both had two waring civilisations that had built homes on their backs, and pitched them against each other.

I had to cut this project short because I had to travel to Grenada for a friends wedding so I will wrap it up here.

I realise that the second scene has some shaky leg animation and the scale seems a bit off but I am unable to work on this project anymore before the deadline as I have to fly.
