Online image search integration into maya

Hi,
I recently completed a beta of a plugin for maya that allows artists to search for reference images online without having to leave the application and I thought I would share it with you all.

All the web interactions happen asynchronously so maya does not get blocked when images are being downloaded. It requires the qt libraries in order to work.

If anyone is interested the plugin is available for free at htttp://www.imgfunnel.com

this looks interesting; but could it actually work from within my network/hard drive ? I'd much rather use my browser to search for images but would love to have this to browse files that are on my machine!

Local image search

Yeah that was definitely something I plan to implement, local image search. The tricky part is finding a way to get back decent results. It would rely heavily on the user having a fairly organised and well named texture library. Once I get some feedback and fix the bugs on the online searching, I will implement that.

Thanks for the comment btw

Sweet script man. You should approach CGTextures.com and others with this!
