Modelling long sleeves/cloth?

Hello everyone. I'm new here, please guide me

I have a question on how does one go about modelling long sleeves - flowy, wide long sleeves like ones on a kimono - any type of cloth really.

Does one do the basemesh in 3dsmax/Maya first and then sculpt the folds in Zbrush?

Are there any other methods that I can use? I'm intending to model in 3dsmax.

Also, with long sleeves, is it necessary to model the arms within the sleeves?

Thanks in advance!

How are you planning on animating them? Is it just going to move along with the body, with maybe a few extra joint controls, or is it going to be simmed?

Hi Meloncov, I understand that sim is hard to control? If possible I would like to exercise control over the cloth, so joints are probably best. I don't have experience modelling/animating cloth so I am not sure.

Doing simulated cloth is a lot more time consuming, and it's often not a possibility for games, but it'll give much more realistic results.

I see, which program is better for simming cloth? Since I'm not animating much, I would prefer to get more realistic results

nCloth within Maya is perfectly good.
