Need help with game art/design courses

I'm an enthusiastic gamer, and I'm currently pursuing a 3-yr. Bachelors course in animation from India. I'd like to join the gaming industry as a game artist/designer some day, and Indian education just doesn't match up to international standards.

I've been looking for International schools with good game art and design courses. I don't have any bias towards countries, just that the course should be reasonably priced and well reputed. I did have VanArts on my list, because they offer a 1-yr. diploma course on game art and design, but because Indian banks only support state-recognized education and degree programs, diplomas are out of the question. Also, 4 yrs. of international education for a Bachelors will also set me back by a lot even if I go for a loan.

So (if you're still reading), are there any good game art/design colleges which offer a 1 or 2 yr. degree program?

Hi Vylkrom!
Now I'm not exactly an expert in the game art field but I've been searching and lurking hopelessly around forums for weeks to find a school for myself and I've come across a few that might be what you want :3

Have you heard of The Gnomon Workshop? They offer online tutorials but I do believe the instructors work in the animation industry and I've heard nothing but good feedback about them.

Try looking at Think Tank Training Centre as well. I've read good reviews about them. Also, the students have impressive reels. <-- here are some reviews of the school.

Also, have you tried checking the workshops offered in this site? It may be short but I'm sure you could benefit greatly from it.

Regarding your choice concerning VanArts, I'd say I'm in a bit of a pickle. There are both good and bad reviews concerning it but I'll let that be up to you to decide. You could read reviews about the schools here and maybe it could help you come up with a decision. Although based on the reviews of read, some VanArts students transferred to Think Tank Centre

Based on the schools I mentioned above, I think Think Tank Centre might be good for you. It's a 1 year long program but, as mentioned in the reviews, you will learn alot and it is worth every penny you spend.

I hope I helped!
