That's good to hear! I'm looking forward to seeing it!

Hmm. You may just have to do the book. First part could be the story... second part, how all the ideas evolved that led to it and the final image.

Congratulations! This has been my personal favourite from the challenge. I think you have absolutely captured the feel, the sense of adventure, along with a touch of humour and a light-hearted hint at sentiment. The execution is simply put fantastic -- and then there are all those small details I kept staring at for many many minutes.

Kudos!

Fantastic Image! I love it.

How do you blend your colors like this in photoshop? They are looking so smooth and ps has no blend tool like painter... so how do you do it?

Keep up the great work.

Best,

Chris

oops, kinda late on the reply, sorry!
Anyhow - I just use a lot of low-opacity brushes in Photoshop and build up the colors that way. Not a lot of blur or airbrush or smudge, I just paint really smoothly.

douglass and others - by now you've likely seen teh Farewell kiss tutorial. See, I told you I couldn't edit it down, but I expected CGSociety to do more choping than they did. So: An extra-long tutorial. Of course, anyone who has been following this thread along doesn't really need the abbreviated version.
Anyhow, thanks for all the notes. Hope to see you all soon in another challenge (any month now! )
