Texture Path Genie 1.0.1 (free script)

Hey all,

recently been developing a tool I've dubbed as "Texture Path Genie" to assist in the relocation of textures when a scene or project has changed location.
I wrote it out of need, but have been tidying it up and finally added a gui with color coded stuffs

-Download-

right now, there's 2 initial buttons. one refreshes the list, and displays all textures in scene, and the other searches your chosen root folder 100% for those matching textures, and if found, corrects the path to point in the right direction.

Right now its still definitely in beta, as there are some minor bugs to work out still, but it works, may have to run a couple of times (will be corrected in the future).

This script I will keep free, but in the nearish future, I'd like to make an extended version of this script to resource a number of common file types that one can reference in maya like references, proxies, cache's, etc.

I'd also like to have some honest feed back on what something like this would be worth to you, monetarily!

Thanks for checking this out and hope it helps!

That's terrific news that Autodesk is including something like that in the program.

It seems like its more or less serving the same purpose, one main difference is with mine you can specify a base folder, your c drive if you have some time, or something more specific, and let it search and find them for you in one go.

Thanks for sharing that though, I had't seen that video yet.

FileTextureManager is the best. It's a free script you can download.

Yeah, also a great tool! very fully featured.

My goal was to make something super automatic (a couple clicks ) at fixing broken paths, basically.
Texture Path Genie is intended to be pretty simple in it's function, and I'm not trying to compete with anything else out there. just offering something related but slightly different!
