UV tools

I'm new with Maya and I'd like to know more about existing UV tools compatible with Maya.

So this is my question: What do you use to unwrap uv when working with maya?

I should prefer to use plugins or embedded tools but I'm open to all of your answers

maya uv tools are decent...
for all more i use headus...

Check out Headus UVLayout. A great and amazing tool. Anybody will like it.

UVlayout is nice, but it is an external app. Futhermore his old pelt algorithm is a bit slow and you have to cut a lot your meshes when they are big (like with more than 20000 quads, UVLayout is said to be a bit tiring), hopefully there is a bunch of tools to tweak the UVs inside UVLayout but I found other programs that do better unwrap directly, so that you don't take time moving nodes after the unwrap or even doing things like the loop : "select some nodes and optimize, select some others and optimize etc...". What I am looking for is a "most possible automatic" tool inside Maya.

It seems that UVNinja use also a pelt algorithm, so I expect the same problems, but I didn't try it.

I found that Autodesk plugin, in the bonus tools of Maya : which seems to produce almost direct-to-use UVs, do someone use it ? Is it reliable with big meshes ? Or will it fail like the one inside Blender, which produces good UVs instantaneously but only for small meshes ?
