Sketchbook Thread of Feraz

Well... hello!
I hope I don't do anything wrong by opening this threat here... ^^"
I am pretty new here and for the new year 2006 I decided to practise more 'natural' painting and drawing... I think I am a bit stucked in the style I am using for years now... and it is rather comic-like.
I hope that you can help me to improve.

This image had just been a smal exercise, and I know that there are still loads of mistakes in it. Usualy the faces I draw are very long and thin... noses are way too long to be natural, eyes are too big, the faces are very angular and often pointed.

Here I tried to use correct proportions... shorter nose, smother outlines...

Well then... my first try - no complex thing, just my first stec for practicing some techniques and facial anatomy... ^^"
I dont like the right side of the face... It looks a bit strange I think, but I'm not sure about this...
as you see i have not completed the eyes and hair. I think this I will do later with another image...
I'd be happy for help

Talking

Feraz,

Welcome aboard! You have certainly done nothing wrong, we are happy to have you aboard!

One thing I would like to change with your permission is the title of your thread ~ may I change it to "Anatomy Thread of Feraz"? This helps me to keep things organized.

The first thing I would recommend if you are interested in improving your realistic rendering skills is to participate in our Open Figure Drawing Workshops, all of which are listed here:

Open Figure Drawing Workshops

The last one, OFDW 010, is just wrapping up, and a new one will begin late Sunday night.

Hope you will join us!

Cheers,

~Rebeccak
