TP Inconsistent Normals Alignment Issue...

Okay so I'm finding that I keep running into this issue in TP with aligning a particle to the underlying normal of geometry. Even when I try forcing it using a "Set Alignment" it doesn't always work.

In this image below you can see that the planes are sitting on top of the geo but they are not "flush" with the normals under it's origin. What's annoying me is that I've solved this EXACT problem before not using alignment, but by wiring the "spin" from a node to the spin of a Particle Data Operator.

But to describe it more, what is happening is a particle is colliding with the mesh and then dying. Which on collision, birth's a new particle (the planes). Those are what I'm trying to have be smooth with the normals instead of just slicing through like they are. I do understand that on some parts of the mesh the planes will stick through do to the curve of the underlying geo.



I'm not sure if anyone knows a fool proof way of aligning an object to the normals?

You can use Alignment node - pretty straightforward approach:

Thanks so much for this! It might sound dumb but that has been one of the most annoying things for me. I would always see from the Normal output from an Intersect Helper and UDeflector but could not figure out which input it would go into. It's the Direction!

Again, thank you for all the help in this post and the others
