UPDATE!

Not struggling with Blender as much now, and its opening up to me now, but texture painting is not going so well. Absolutely dreadful in fact!

I'm going to wrap this up tomorrow with the usual renders. At least the low-poly model was finished and that's further than I've ever got with a creature model before.

As you said you made progress, and that is the goal. Keep at it.

Cheers, Cbesse. Your Kraken is looking mighty good, too!

Sigh, I'm making a last ditch attempt today to give the Beast a Bronze finish and place him on a display case. LOL...over the last few days and nights, this picture sums up my struggle with Blender...

Cheers Antonio.

Just doing the rigging right now, although trying figure out how in the name of the Beast himself it works is murder! Thankfully, my experience from my Maya days is paying off.

Should be good for tonight though...

UPDATE!

Okay, this is the final piece as far as this HMC goes, as the dead line is high noon tomorrow. Today had to be one of the most frustrating and yet rewarding days in my time doing this kind of thing. Didn't expect to have the rigging sussed in time to pose him. I found texturing hard so I settled for a simple bronze texture that I whipped up in Gimp. Although this feels a bit of a cop-out, I suppose one of Ray's hobbies in retirement was Bronze-casting his characters due to foam deterioration of the original animation models...I think its meant to be.

Listen, I would like to extend my gratitude to Tucker, Wyatt, Antonio and Rob for the much needed guidance on this HMC which meant a lot to me as Harryhausen is my idol, and I really didn't want to cock this up. Also thanks to everyone else for the kind comments and support.
