Mia Material - Mental Ray Rendering Issue

Hi,

I'm working on a short film as part of my course at school and I will need my computer both at school and at home for rendering.

The problem is that I don't get the same results I get at home when rendering at school.
I'm using mia materials with diffuse, specular, glossiness and normal maps.

Here's a frame rendered at school and one rendered at home so you can compare. I'm using the exact same settings and a simple directional light for both renders.

Home:
School:

Does anyone know what's going on?
Thank you.

I am interested in schools for VFX, could you tell me which school you are at? Impressive work, by the way.

Hi quentello,

To answer your question, I'm studying in the 3d animation and computer graphics program at Collège de Bois-de-Boulogne, french school in Montreal, and the school is focused on video games more than VFX.

Awesome, thank you. Sounds especially interesting considering that I'm a native French speaker myself. How do you like it?

It's a really good school to get you started but the best school out there is probably the Centre NAD, where I sent my application a few weeks ago, hope to hear back from them soon.
