A "payment plan" is in place to pay the taxman what he is owed. A pity there is no payment plan to pay the workers what they are owed.

Strictly speaking, I'm sure there is, but the odds are the company will run out of money far before getting that far down the list of people to pay.

I've found in life it usually helps if you know what you're talking about

Pixo has 11 other facilities so it's unlikely the company will 'run out of money far before getting that far down the list'. I would hope they pay all the artists.

All up this is a very different thing to R&H/DD.

all pixo offices are independent companies under a holding, so each facility pays for their own stuff

For what it's worth, everyone (all 8 people) in the Detroit Pixomondo office got everything they were owed, 2 weeks additional, and any unused vacation time paid.

So how many people are out of a job.

I am getting out of this game, it sucks and clients and companies are just getting worse.

Update from 2 weeks ago...

VFX Group Pixomondo Shuts Down Offices in London

Quote:
"COLOGNE, Germany VFX Group Pixomondo, an Oscar winner for its visual-effects work on Martin Scorcese's Hugo, has shut down its operations in London, citing the need to cut costs."

"
Pixomondo COO Christian Vogt said the company proved unable in the past three years to build its local businesses in London so that it could generate its own revenue.

He said the decision to close the operations, however, was not a sign that the German effects house was withdrawing from the international stage. Pixomondo also closed its Detroit facility in November.

I'm surprised by this, as the London closure was quite different. I know at least one compositor that is still owed over a month's salary and it doesn't look like they're getting paid any time soon.
