Basic UV texturing from photos...

What would you use for a simple neat job of texturing a human character? Photoshop look like it can do the trick nicely but is something like 3D-Coat more desirable?

thanks

If you are familiar with Photoshop then you should have no trouble doing the texturing job with Mudbox. It will probably be the best way to achieve this, the workflow is very easy for someone coming from a photoshop background. Mari is probably the only other app that can really compete with mudbox in the texturing dept, but it is more expensive.

If you are after a free option, you can consider 'Sculptris'. It's a free Sculpting + Painting app and as far as I know it will allow you project images onto 3D models.

Thanks Micheal. I have downloaded Sculptris and 3D coat demo. Sculptris is really nice (but I only tried sculpting as I didnt notice that I could paint too). In 3D coat I tried to map a front face photo on my model head but the colors are all wrong. Trying to troubleshoot my way trough it now. I tried the PSD 3d layer but it's quite sluggish on my comp.

I'll check mudbox and try Sculptris paint module!!
