turn mental ray satellite on and off

Hi,

is there a way to start and stop mental ray satellites manually instead of using the service (in win 7)? I don't feel like always playing in my rayhost neither, I'd like to control it from the satellite station.

I mean like an icon/window that you launch and stays there, and then close if you want to shutdown the satellite.

I feel like I am asking for a new software lol

Thanks

You cant, if you would while rendering the render would be broken and wont start with the nex frame while batch rendering. If you are concernd of the lag while rendering you could use a tool named "prio", it saves the priority you set in TaskManager, so you always can run the satellites in idle mode.

PS and oh i forgot if thats not sufficient to reduce the lag completely you additionally should try to assign only a single core (respectively 2 ht cores on an Intel sys) to your application you are working with on your satellite machine, that finally should do the trick.
