The Yards_ digital graffitti keeping our streets clean

This is a self assigned project. (Im gonna make this thread kind of neat and tidy so I can keep on top of it)

It has a couple of purposes and goals.

- To build my first entire scene (objects, background and setting, life like and insipiring): a composition totally from my imagination.
- Get my self better aquainted with the things I learned in my first semester.
- Material Experementation
- Multiple composits

concept: I love abandon buildings. When I see one I cant help but go over to the fence keeping you out and taking it all in. I also love trains. When I was growing up I used to live right next to a shunting yard. I used to love climbing the fence and just watching all those tons of steel flying by or sleeping on the tracks. I also love graffitti. I used to love it a little too much actually and it has gotten me in trouble in the past.
I decided I would combine a bunch of these things together and build a 3d scene with them.

So I drew a picture to get a feeling for the whole thing:

I also fired up max and whipped out my first box car.

More to come.......

I have started texturing the boxcar. I think my frieght cars will need a couple of other shapes- so I will do an oil tank car and maybe one of those empty cars that you would except to see wood on. And of coarse those HUGE cars that hold.. well real cars inside.

I love the old forgotten things too. They've always held a fascination for me, thinking about the history that they've seen, that no one seems to care about anymore.

I like what you've done so far. My 3D experience is usually organic, and I don't know anything about graffiti, so I can't offer any crits. But I like it.
