camera aspect ratio and film aspect ratio

I'm a little confuse here, if I set the render settings to HD the Device Aspect Ratio is set to 1.777 automatically but in my camera the Film Aspect Ratio still 1.50 should I update it too?

If all of your work is to be done in maya, it may not really matter.

However, I always update the film aspect to match the globals before I set any camera animation. Ive had problems getting cameras to match when Ive baked out my camera for other apps like Nuke if I didnt do this first. So I think this is the proper workflow, but it really only crops up as a problem if you're exporting cameras or matching something else (ie footage).

Hi Jason,

Yes I need to match this camera with some footage in Nuke, the problem is, my client gave me this camera with some Maya animation. It is OK, I'll ask for a correct camera.

I think that is a bug in Maya at least I don't see any useful application for this.

Thank you!
