wish there was a plugin for zbrush.

The hair renderings do not look impressive.

Look at the link you provided. I would be interested to see a video as well, but the link only has 3 stills praising the speed of the hair render.

I don't think the images are here for an artistic purpose...

Did I say they are? For me they try to illustrate an improvment in a certain area. But it is hard for me to tell whether the speed improvement claim is worth anything under production like conditions. No motion blur, no DOF, simple light setup, just a lot of noise ( even on a low res still ).

It's a comparison of an example between versions showing a speed increase without a loss in quality. Certain things might not have improvement when rendering hair, but this is a more general speed improvement that would always apply and improve your render time.
