on set vfx work

Hi all,
Im interested in learning more about being on set for VFX supervision, and I was wondering if anyone firstly knew of any websites or tutorials that I could check out to help with this.

Id liek to start putting some of my own work into shots as practice.. so my second question is..whats the bare minimum I need to do a good job

camera (obviously )
a fish eye lens for taking HDRI images
Lens grids for workign out camera distortion

anything else?
