New Unity 3D, Photoshop, and Cinema 4D Training From cmiVFX

Video Trailer

cmiVFX just released the first video in a brand new game design series based on the Unity3D game engine, taught by Creative Director and 3D industry veteran, Martin Knapp. Throughout each of the many lessons, students are introduced step-by-step to the powerful Unity3D game engine. Unity3D has been used to create countless games supporting all major systems and mobile devices. In this introduction, students will learn to build an entire game level from scratch, including textures, lights, advanced particles, and even how to add first-person and third-person game controllers so that they can explore and play the games they just created.

About Martin Knapp
Martin is a Creative Director who has been working in the 3D industry for over 10 years. He has worked for major 3D companies such as Pixologic and has taught classes at major film and game studios like Industrial Light and Magic and Ubisoft. He has served on the advisory board for the LA Film School and the Digital Animation and Visual Effects School. In addition to creating award winning work in the areas of advertising, web, and games, he has a passion for sharing his deep knowledge of the digital arts with others and has created hundreds of hours of online training. He is an Autodesk and Pixologic certified instructor, and self-admittedly, he is always a student himself as he never stops learning the latest tools and techniques.

This tutorial is about Maxon C4D Advanced Particles with Sam Welker. In life many of the biggest things are made of millions of smaller things. A lot of these smaller things are particles. In motion graphics and visual effects you'll often find that adding a lot of variation and detail can really add a visual value to your final result. Particles are especially helpful in this scenario and can be quite powerful. Maxon Cinema 4D is a useful tool, but where it's furthest strengths lie with particles are found in bringing in 3rd party tools. This series will take advantage of incredible tools such as TurbulenceFD by Jawset, PShade from, and TP Partio by 908Productions found on . These tools will be necessary to fully experience this series but don't be afraid. These are some of the most powerful particle plugins mentor Sam Welker has integrated into his daily workflow and will continue to be useful for your particle work. We are also thrilled about our partnership products so much that we are including a bonus chapter in our Free Vimeo Video Preview! That way you can get set up before watching the video!

About Sam Welker
Sam Welker is a young and avid Cinema 4D artist. He started using the program in 2010 after using After effects for a short period of time and fell in love you could say. After countless hours of learning, testing, playing around, and eventually taking things seriously Welker learned the ins and outs of Cinema 4D as well as the business enough to start professionally working in early 2012. Welker studied at Full Sail University as well as Boise State University in Idaho. He currently resides in Southern California for the time being. Welker loves storytelling, meeting new people, going on adventures, and skiing to list a few. This high energy and enthusiastic mentor will always get excited about particles and Xpresso. You can learn more about him around the web by following him on his blog, twitter, or Facebook page where he shares free training, presets (free and paid), and more.
