Mobile phone camera for textures/reference

My new Samsung Galaxy Note 3 comes with a 13 megapixel camera and modes for HDR shooting, 360 degree spherical panoramas and what not.

I want to start testing it for texture photos etc. It seems to me that a lot of the photo modes that comes with it, out of the box, do a lot of processing of the photos (to make them prettier etc.), which really goes against what I want for texture captures.

Do anybody here have experience with using current generation cell phone cameras for this kind of work? Maybe somebody can recommend a camera app they have had good results with?
