Curve Editor slow while zooming, but fine with panning

Hey guys,

I have a very annoying problem with the Curve Editor in Max 2013. Whenever I use the mouse wheel to zoom in or to scale the view it lags horribly. Nearly a second or two delay. If I use the zoom tool it lags as well.
Panning around however (just using the middle mouse button) is perfectly smooth. The scene itself runs smooth too.

Any ideas what could cause that? I only have the camera and it's target selected, and it even occurs if i only have one of the tracks selected. Makes altering the curves really annoying

best regards,

Chris

P.S: max 2013, vray 2.3, i7, 16gb ram, quaddro 4000 - that shouldn't ne the issue...
