Nefertiti, Elysio (3D)

Title: Nefertiti
Name: Elysio
Country: Germany
Software: 3D-Coat, 3ds max

Queen Nefertiti

The most beautifull and the most powerfull women of the ancient agypt.
She were portraited by the master sculptor Tutmose.
Really a masterpiece.
She were the wife of the great king Ahkenaten, who raised up the god ATON to only true god. He and Nefertiti were the only representatives on earth. A very clever act to pull the whole power to his own hands.
Today we know this was an dark and violent time, but this time had also a splendid and bright side. The art was revolutionary, the wallpaintings show us a hugh volume of life on the river Nil. The sculptures of this time were unique an very realistic.

Best regards, Elysio.

Thumbs up

Hi Elysio,

nice to have you here! You´re welcome.

Nice sculpt from you. I like the perspective and lighting of your work.
The background looks seperated in two sections with different colour temperature - a matter of taste.
The blurry scratches of it are appropriate.

Really solid work!

Thomas

Hi Thomas.

Thank you for your kind words.
Here are some informations behind the picture.
First of all, I forgot to write that I also used Mudbox for the texture painting.
So here are the details:
Sculpted in 3D Coat, painted in Mudbox and rendered in Max with Iray.
Rendertime ca. 1 h , because of a Resolution 4000x2667. AMD Phenom 6X 16GB only CPU no GPU - GPU has to less RAM.
6 UV Tiles each with its own material, 4 Layer = 24 Textures a 4K Resolution, Diffuse, Bump, Reflection, Roughness 16 bit or 32 bit. 32 Bit for Bump. RAM usage only textures over 5GB.
3Million Tris.. 6 lights 3 Selfilluminationplanes each with a hdr texture.
It was quite havy to handle this textures for the graphiccard. 3GB GPU RAM was to less for Mudbox. So I had to paint them seperately.

Regards Elysio.

Excellent reproduction, I like the model, it seems very smooth, I imagine that you've a good topology there, and I also like textures but I can't imagine why have you used so many uv tiles (I know a lots of tiles are difficult to manage, so my compliments!). Btw a very good job. Congrats!

Hi Miriam.

Thank you for your kind words.
Why did I made 6 4K textures ? Good question.
It`s just because i want a high grade of detail, indeed the skin could have a lower resolution texture, but the crown and the gems need a lot more resolution.
If i had used lower resolution, details of scratches and demaged regions wouldn`t be so clear.
You are a texture artist, do you know better techniques to reduce this high count of uv tiles, I hope you can help me.

Regards Elysio.
