I think it is very impressive, the detail in the flesh-animation is far better then anything seen so far in movies even, and this is realtime!.. To top it, having that run on a single consumer card is pretty freaking impressive!

It may not be executed to perfection(eyes, lighting and cut btwn. performances etc.), because this is focused on the technology, not the art..

In the hands of talented artists, this will be a bomb for gaming.
This is not for movies or still image work. And if you are not impressed by this, I don't think you get what it actually is.

Very, very impressive, both the face and the ocean. Yes, the face is not over the valley, and the ocean clearly still needs more detail, but come one, this is pretty exciting stuff. Can't wait for these to make it to the PS5 12 years later.

I disagree...

Only for the subset of games that feature realistic human characters only, and have a large enough budget for the process. Do you know how expensive a lightstage is, for example? Not to mention licensing costs for using someone's likeness projected to a large cast.

But even a game like Mass Effect that features a lot of human characters would not really be able to rely on this system exclusively, because of the large number of aliens in its cast.

I also have a personal preference for somewhat stylized content, like the art seen in the Last of Us:

I can assure you that I do get it...
The technology is impressive, but its application is limited. It also takes the current highest end graphics card's performance to display one head, it'll take about a decade for such computing power to become widespread enough for a game to utilize it.

This is exactly what I am thinking.

If you go back 12 years ago with PS2 games and compare with what will be available now with PS4... imagine what we will have in the next 12 years.

I am very excited about how GPU processing is evolving and all the possibilities.

About the "nearly flawless realism", that is just marketing guys... Nvidia CEO would never say something like: You see, there are many mistakes, here and there, but this is good stuff.

He is just a seller making a presentation.
