similar "Wang tile" texturing with Sketch´n´Toon Shader

Hi all,

I was experimenting a bit, with distributing textures over a surface.
When you have large grounds in arch.-viz or large buildings, sometimes
it is better to use real fotos as textures, instead of noise-shaders.

I found a way to do a random distributed texturing with Sketch´n´Toon.
Inside the C4D-file you can see how it works: Cinema 4D file

We know, that we have a powerful plugin for that:

With that plugin you can do a lot more, cause it has loads of abilities.

My workaround is not so powerful, but for fast small things, it could be
useful. I don´t know if there exists a better way. Hope you like it. Maybe
some of you can find a better solution or better adjustments within the
Cinema4D tools / Sketch´n´Toon shader.

Thanks for posting this! It's an elegant solution. I really appreciate being able to create as many effects as possible with the native application (especially render-time effects) as it makes handing files to clients much easier.

Thanks. You can copy&paste the S&T stack into the bump-channel,
as you may guess. It gives you an additional realistic look.

hi, another way is to use things-on-surface plugin.
nice S&T set-up, although too complex, i personally use hatch shader in a more straight-forward way when mixing procedurals.

Interesting plugin "things on surface".

Sadly it has not the powerful distributing controls as the S&T - shader.
For example rotation-control of the patterns are not possible with t-o-s.
