python for maya training?

Hi!

I'm looking to add a bit of python scripting to my skillset.

Has anyone looked at any of these training resources and can recommend them?

eat3d: http://eat3d.com/maya_scripting

cgcircuit: http://www.cgcircuit.com/lessondeta...te.php?val=1164

cmivfx: python introduction

I'm going to start going through some of the free python general programming courses, but some maya centric python training would be a nice addition!

Let me know which you think would be a good investment. My scripting knowledge is minimal and looking to add some scripting to my generalist skillset.

Thanks,
George

I highly recommend cmiVFX. Justin is a great guy. He's actively helping people out in the python-inside-maya google mailing list too.

I too am trying to pick up python. I have done a little scripting here and there and can reverse engineer basic scripts but thats as far as my knowledge goes.

So I am actually taking this free class https://www.coursera.org/course/interactivepython
It is REALLY really good so far. I figured this would help me get my python basics down. Then i'd pay for a good course in python for maya and the like.

Given there are so many applications in our industry that uses python, i figured a good foundation would be more helpful in the long run.

I had a few years of experience with Mel and needed to start using Python.
I found this a great resource:
