What 2D-to-3D Conversion Softwares are available?

I'm trying to get an overview of what software is out there to convert 2D content to Stereo 3D.

I've found a bunch of tools via Google search that seem to do this, like the YUVsoft After Effects plugins:

http://www.yuvsoft.com/

There are also more basic/cheap converters like this one from MovAvi:

http://www.movavi.com/videoconverter3d/

I'm wondering: Does anybody know any other 2D-to-3D conversion tools that are available?

I am particularly interested in solutions that support Red-Cyan Anaglyph 3D glasses...

Thanks in advance for any help!

Anything that could convert 3D would support anaglyph

I don't think that there's any good conversion software though. 3D the kind of thing where if it gets below a certain level of quality/accuracy then it just isn't worth it.

Well, I'd like to know what is out there, software wise, so I can test the 3D quality myself.

Also: Does anyone own a 3DTV with really good 2D-to-3D conversion quality?

I would like to know wich brand/model of 3DTV currently does the best 2D-to-3D.

Thanks in advance for any input...

I need to converted side by side 3d vids to anaglyph. I know players like bono work for abs but I need to convert it to a nice anaglyph to play on an iPad.

2d to 3d converting to anaglyph would be great!

I've been searching for a while too looking for a way to convert side by side 3d videos to a hard rendered anaglyph but couldn't find.

Anaglyph is fine for 3d movies. Forget the special tvs and glasses hardware.

Yes! I believe so, too...

A good Anaglyph looks just as good, and "deep", as shutter-glasses or polarized glasses 3D.

Plus you can view it on any TV/screen/projector with just cheap cardboard 3D glasses.

Tell me if you find some good software for this!

Nothing automated will do it all, some of it can get you a certain amount of the way, but it's really a scene by scene and case by case basis. No matter what you do there is a lot of roto in your future.

When you create stereo it doesn't matter what you look at it as..you're not "generating" it in anaglyph, anaglyph is just a display method, in all cases you are working on a set of footage for each eye..you can choose to display them in a million different ways, but you should be generating and maintaining stream of L/R data.

You can at the end choose to combine and output the results in anaglyph, but it's just the end of the line, changes nothing in the middle.

Also for testing purposes, anaglyph is fine, but you will notice subtleties on a modern system (polarized, shutter glasses, TV, projector, etc.) that you just can't pick up on anaglyph, or on a certain size of screen.

P.S. I have also never seen a TV that can do it using the automatic function, even close to correctly for more than a few seconds, unless there have been some radical advances this year.

Have you seen the pricing for the YUVsoft plugins? I'm pretty sure they're insane over there.

Has anyone used them and can speak about their effectiveness?

EDIT: I started developing a plugin for auto-conversion a couple of years ago, but had little time to keep developing it. - http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?f=2&t=870246

Also, there are things you can do with frame/speed offset, skewing, motion vectors that can get you to a good place pretty quickly too, without the need for roto. All depends on the footage.

Check out AVISynth too. It's a plugin thing for Nvidia 3D Vision Video Player. You can kinda write your own scripts for it, and it does a surprisingly good job.

The YUVsoft folks charge 3,500 Dollars per minute of 3D Conversion done by them.

And that is for "Medium Quality" conversion.

For "High Quality", you've got to contact them and negotiate a price.

I'm guessing that what they charge for HQ Conversion is 5,000 - 6,000 Dollars per minute.

Those are pretty sick prices to me. But I guess Hollywood/TVWood can afford them?

I was talking about the prices for licensing the plugins. 1 full license + 10 render nodes is about 75k. At those prices, I'm really curious how well the plugins work. Has anyone experience with it?
