Scatter VL Pro - don't show in Alpha

I have a target spotlight that I'm using with Scatter VL Pro to make some volume light. I'm breaking up the render in passes, background and text. I want to render the text with the volume light in the RGB, but not in the Alpha. Is there anyway to keep the volume light from showing in the Alpha? Thanks.

Can't you just render a separate Alpha pass with Scatter off? or a diffuse+shadow and blend.

I am not sure that you can render the alpha without volume light while Scatter is on.

Yeah, I just really didn't want to have to setup a separate render just for the alpha - just one more thing to keep track of.

The volume light's alpha was faint enough that I could adjust the curves a bit and get rid of it.
