Viewport canvas orbit?

Hi
3dsmax 2013
Viewport canvas turns to wireframe when I hit the orbit button. Does it for hotkeys and using the nav button at the bottom of the UI. This is kind of annoying and I cant see where to change the setting. Adaptive degradation that used to do this is not active. Checked all the hotkeys and viewport settings and cant find the problem.

Any help appreciated.
Cheers.

Are you using Nitrous and is this scene coming in from Direct3D mode by any means ?
When you run D3D you still can disable adaptive degration in the UI, while when in nitrous you even do not get the interface to do so...

Thanks spacefrog

You are right in D3D everything is fine. Strange you would think the feature would be a nitrous one, but it aint

Thanks again!
Cheers
