Sweep modifier makes 3Ds Max crash

Hi all, I'm having some issues with the sweep modifier in 3Ds Max, whenever I try to apply it on an editable spline / line 3Ds Max crashes (and it tells me to send a report etc... ) .
Also, I tried opening a file made by someone else wich contains an object with a sweep modifier, everything was working fine until I went to the "modify" tab of the object where the sweep modifier was: 3Ds max crashed immediately with the following message: "An error has occured and the application will now close. etc..."
I tried rebooting my computer, and I've also tried unpluging my tablet ( http://www.digitaltutors.com/forum/...2306#post122306 ) but I still can't use the sweep modifier.
I'm using the last version of 3Ds Max 2014 on Windows 7, I have no custom plugins installed and I've been using 3Ds Max for only one week. I've never had any other problem with 3Ds Max up to now.

Any help is welcome , I guess I could just do without that sweep modifier (as I did on Blender before), but it seemed like a nice modifier :/ .

Thank you.

What version of 3ds Max?

Did you submit a Customer Error Report (CER)? If so what email address is it under, I can look-up the report.

Also, please log this issue here (and attach the file if possible):
