Help... influencing areas when manipulating objects

Hi all,

Can anyone help me, I'm in a pickle.

I'm having trouble with one of the elements of a pop-up book I'm working on.

It is a slightly extruded 'cutout' emulating card, to be positioned on a page, which I brought in from illustrator as a capped and unbevelled polygon.

The trouble I am having with this object is that I need to push parts of it out, but I have to achieve this by moving/scaling/rotating edge by edge as I can't find any functionality that allows neighbouring faces/edges etc to be 'influenced' by pulling others.

If anyone has a solution, much gratitude from late night London...

Dan

Google "Maya soft selection". That's what you need.
