IFA final

Hi, Cgsociety won't accept this image to the 3d stills gallery, so i put in here in WIP forum as they wrote in description.

After quite a long time I finished my new personal project called IFA.
Idea is inspired by "rebuilding" a part of the city, where all old houses and gardens were replaced by new commie blocks. (small village became the largest borough )
Made in 3dsmax, crane was textured in Mari, rendered by great Vray and postproduction in PS. It took about 17 hours (the fog took sooo much time) to render in 5k (3930K).

I hope you like it.

Hey man,

That looks great! I'm not sure why is was rejected for the gallery. Maybe Leigh would be willing to offer a few lines of feedback as to why.

My only crit would be that the dirt looks a bit odd near the lens. Did you try to recreate the look of a certain lens? To get that much blur that close to the dirt, you would need a pretty fast lens, like 1.4 or lower. But your shot looks like it was taken from a longer lens. Either way, its difficult to judge how far away the viewer is from the blurry dirt pile.

I saw this image somewhere else, and thought it was awesome, generally I like everything about it, from light, composition, to colors. Not to mention the subject matter evoking many memories from the not so distant past of my country.
In my opinion, this is one for the frontpage.

Wow I love it! Great attention to detail!

And now I am actually a bit confused about the rejection. I don;t get it, curious about the explanation in case one comes up.

Cheers
Andre

Thank you!
I tried to add some depth to the image so i used a quite fast lens (35mm/f2.4).

Beautiful work and mood!
Don't really understand the rejection from gallery but as far as I read from the mods there will be changes to submission process soon and you might want to retry then :-)

btw, where is the highres version? I'd love to see it!

Nice work man! Great attention to detail, I love the mood to the scene. Sorry about not getting into the Gallery, I'm sure they had their reasons but I can't really come up with any. Well done.

I don't get why people get upset when their work gets rejected. CG Toilet as i like to call it is not the "be all end all " of cg websites. Your image is absolutely amazing in all respects, I would love to have something as detailed as that in my portfolio. Great Job!
