Who can create this effect by Maya

this made by 3d max , and i try it by soup group node , but i have two problem
the soup not give me any control like position, rotation and scale and if i wanna use the soup I must do not use the delete history on my object and its impossible...
(i khow my english is very bad and im Sorry about that )

ok now i have new problem ,this is good for hard edge object but in soft edge object is so bad
because after doing this , my face of object is hard...
any idea?

before you separate the source mesh into its individual faces. lock the Vertex Normals. This will prevent the Vertex Normals from getting re-calculated after the separation.

when all the faces come together, they will look smooth, instead of faceted.
