Creating a Fountain

Hi I wonder if Blender allows a way to make particles follow a Path like a Fountain....

It comes up as a jet before coming down like the following picture.

You should be able to get particles to do this pretty easily. Just play with emitter size, particle speed (give it a bit of random variation) and lifetime until you get the result you like. You can change physics type to "fluid" to get some more liquid-like behavior once they land:
