Ari Digital Impressionism, MARTA NAEL (2D)

Title: Ari Digital Impressionism
Country: España
Software: Photoshop

I painted this a long time ago (October 2010) with Photoshop as concept art for Evil Spell, a game developed by Dark Ride Studios. The game didn't make it finally and it wasn't finished. She had to be a sexy and evil character who was supposed to be a bank thief. That's why she's wearing the mask on her hip.

Thumbs up

Nice expressive brush work and impressionistic style. You did a good job fleshing out the character's body form and you even made the pose pretty expressive. With that tilted head angle and dark hair, it kind of reminded me of the character Xena from the TV show Xena: Warrior Princess. Her forearms got a bit too thin and tube-like, and her shape and form of her hands aren't well developed (like she's loosing her wrist and palms, and her fingers on the left hand don't curl around the gun very well). I do like the guns, though, especially the left one (the character's left, not the viewer's). I do like the design and rendering of the blue jacket she's wearing (really cool), and I almost didn't notice the mask, but it adds an intrique element (makes me wonder what its for). Your background colors and brush strokes work well with the character without making her blend into it (well done there). This turned out pretty successful, so keep for your portfolio. Keep it up. Great job.

I'm in love with this painting. I wish I could do that whole "digital impressionism style" thingy. I've been spying your other works also by the way.
