Paint problems of quad center

Hi all,
Got a problem: Cannot paint on polygon center. Cannot see
why.
1.

And if I subdivide and paint with a smaller brush
it happens again.:
2.

Maybe someone know why this is happening?

Thanks for your reply.
I did a test trying subdivision without smoothing. But somehow
whichever check-box I check/uncheck the mesh is always a bit smoothed,
and a bit too much for my low poly:

so your sure this isn't a UV problem?

There's smoothing and smoothing. If you turn off the smooth positions option then your object won't round off as you subdivide it, which is what you want. You'll need to subdivide a few times to make the polys small enough for the brush to cover them all.

However that doesn't help the fact that the normals are still smoothed when subdividing, which makes the object look rounded when it's not. There's not really a way to prevent that. But you can always ignore it by toggling Flat Lighting.

Hm I think you're right, an illusion from the light itself.
But why does the uv's get distorted or smoothed? (There is an optionbox for smooth uv's but I
can't see a difference from toggling it.)
