Question about saving brushes to a Custom Brush Palette in Painter X3

When saving a brush to a custom palette I thought it possible to create variants of a similar brush, but it's not working as expected. For instance, I have a chalk bush saved that has pressure sensitive size enabled in the expression dropdown. When I try to create a new chalk brush without any size variation, it alters the chalk brush with the size sensitivity as well. I end up with two of the same brush. They work more like instances of each other than unique brushes.

I've tried dragging a new chalk brush in and alter that one, but like before, ALL the chalk brushes in the palette end up with the same changes. Is there a button or methodology I'm missing here?

Thanks much.

BTW: Painter version X3 - OS Windows 7 (bootcamped on a MacPro Tower)
