VRay Noise in Dark Areas.

Im sitting with a scene, it has quite high contrast between the brights n darks, the scene however is VERY straight forward, no glass, minimal reflections.

Im using Frishluft settings, and I have the Dmc all the way down to 0.04 and i stilll get a lot of noise in my dark areas. the white areas are fine however.

for lighting, im using a Dome light with a HDR map on it, also im using a Spotlight to cast hard shadows in the scene, which is whats causing the noisy areas. I do however need the hard shadows.

any suggestions would be much appriciated.
thanks a lot.

Could you post an image?

Also one with your render settings would be helpful.

Vray undersamples dark areas.
There is a check box to tell it to sample after (or before?) gamma correction, which fixes the problem.
From memory I think it's "adaptiation only don't effect colors" in the render globals. That should fix it.
