occluding object from receiving shadow other object

How can that be done?

In Maya simply go to the attibute of the object you don't want to recieve shadows and turn it off.

Thanks for your answer, but thats not what i meant.
It must receive shadows from other objects.

Under Rendering menu set, go to Lighting/Shading > Break Shadow Links

It "kind of" works... experiment with it yourself.

Remember to set the shadow/light linking also in the renderglobals or the shadow linking will not work!
