Adobe kills Fireworks

Amidst the chaos of the news that Adobe goes subscription only, Fireworks gets hatched. :-(

Bad mistake, Adobe. Lots of web devs and designers counted on this tool (myself included). You just alienated yet another group of users.

Well in light they only stop future development and support.

Fireworks will still be available through CS6 package and Creative Cloud.
So you can still "depend" on it.

Besides that I do feel they severely going in a bad direction with this new strategy.
I'm currently investigating if it's worth to upgrade to Creative Cloud.
I just got of the phone with the sales department and you can't buy upgrades from 5.5 to 6 anymore they will only sell full packages.
So any stock that is floating around on stores now will be the last.

I'd be happy to take any of their disgruntled's.
Project Dogwaffle is the (Un) natural Paint Program!

I can somewhat understand Adobe's position here, but at this point in time without something solid to replace the program, borderline canning it feels like a mistake.

Adding fuel to the fire - Microsoft is killing development of Expression Web. But you can download it for free for the time being, along with Expression Design.
