Picker Train

One of the major problems in urban collective transports, is the time it takes for passenger transfer from and to the transport. If this issue could be addressed, it would cut travel times by a huge amount.

The Picker is a possible solution. It uses a detachable module used to drop off and pick up passengers while the train is in movement. The process would go along like the following:
- The Picker is arriving to its next "stop". The passengers that need to leave on this stop are already inside the detachable module.
- Upon arrival, the Picker slows down and drops the module on the ground, via a cable with a articulated "hook". The Module lands on a rail meant to slow it down independantly, and safely
- The Picker then picks up another module, filled with the passengers that need to board the train (they were already inside the module awaiting the Picker's arrival). Before lifting the cable, the module is on a rail that aids its acceleration.
- With the new module attached, the Picker accelerates to its normal cruise speed. The passangers that were on the module can now go inside the train, while the ones that leave on the next station, start getting inside the module.

Also of note, each module could have space reserved for fuel (preferably electric). As the Picker picks up his new module at each "stop", it is refilled, so that it never needs to stop to refuel.
Finally, each station could have any sort of environment friendly power generators (solar panels, for example), in order to independently cope with the fuel demands of the trains.
Practice makes perfect
