CGTalk gallery

Hello guys. I would like to know why my work never appears in any CGTalk gallery, even in the "Latest Works" gallery. Does it has to do with the quality of the work, the style (caricature) or are there any reasons why such as the amount of jobs posted, or is there some sort of random choice of what appears? I never received any email warning me if my pics have been accepted or not. I remember a few years ago I had a discussion with one of the moderators (for some reason that I don't remember), and I am not sure if that conversation is the reason why my work never appears in the galleries or if my works simply does not please the CGTalk staff.

Thank you.

Make sure you check this little square before you press the "Submit Image" button.

Well actually, no you didn't. And your posting history clearly shows this. In the last 7 years, you've submitted only one piece of work to the Showcase Gallery, which was last year in November, and it wasn't accepted, and you received an explanation for this.

So I don't really know why you're posting this thread.

Yes. I did. I have 4 images on my portfolio, 4 images with "show in gallery" checked, 4 images in 2012/2013. I don't know how to write in English, but I can read .... and I read the rules for posting images. So, my thread is a question about something that I do not understand.

And, my friend, I have not received any explanation about any of the 4 images.
I do not want trouble. It was just a question that I tried to clarify.
If you consider that my thread isn't Ok, please, delete it. Thank you.

The "Show in gallery" checkbox refers to your portfolio's gallery tab. I realise this is potentially confusing, which is why we are currently redesigning the entire portfolio system, because it's not nearly as user friendly as it needs to be. But the point is your portfolio gallery and the forum's showcase gallery are two different things.

Also, to see why your image (the caricature of the woman) wasn't accepted, simply click on it in your portfolio, and you'll see a reason for why it was declined if you hover your mouse where it says that it wasn't accepted below the image.

Thank you. Anyway, I checked the orange square option to all my images too - "Check this option to state that you have read and unsderstand.... and yes, I understand". Maybe the mechanism isn't working very well.

Thanks. No more questions.

May you delete this thread, please?

The mechanism is automatic. If you check the box, the image immediately goes to a validation queue to be checked for the Showcase Gallery. As I mentioned before, your posting history shows that you did not check that box for most of your images. It also shows in your portfolio; if you click on the image, you'll see that it says "Not submitted to the CGTalk gallery" (or something similar) below each of the images, apart from the female caricature which you did submit.

We don't delete threads simply because the matter was resolved. Someone else may have the same question as you, and do a search, in which case this thread would be useful to them.

The caricature of the woman (Dilma Rousseff, president of Brazil) has no status (it should display something like "not accepted"?) and when I click or hover the images on the manager (the thumbs) or on my gallery, nothing appears, no information about why the image was not accepted.

Maybe I'm wrong.

It's a fair question, as Leigh mentioned the system can be confusing names wise, but it really belongs in the support forums at this point.
Moving it there for you, and for the benefit of those who might have a similar question and searching the right forums (rare creatures such people might be).
