How to use existing UWV mapping?

Hello! I wonder if anyone knows how to use existing UWV mapping on another object. More specifically, I have two similar but not identical objects (copying Unwrap UVW will not work) and the objects require mapping coordinates that can't be handled with simple mapping modes provided by UWV map modifier (box, planar etc.) so I can't simply use the same UWV map modifier. The objects are curved beams with flat vertical sides (see image), so essentially just simple extrusions, and I'm only interested on the mapping of the flat vertical sides. While the objects are slightly different, I could just use the existing mapping if there is a way to somehow extract or copy the mapping and use it on the other object.

On the attached image you'll see four beams: the top two beams with correct mapping (textured and checker map) and the other two with incorrect mapping. The problem doesn't seem too difficult so maybe I'm just missing a simple fix, or maybe not - let me know if you have any tips on the issue!
